Susan A. Crane is Associate Professor of Modern European History at the University of Arizona. Her research focuses on thematic issues of collective memory, historical consciousness and historical photography, particularly in modern German history.  Current projects: editing The Cultural History of Memory in the Nineteenth Century (Bloomsbury Publishers, forthcoming 2019) and finishing a monograph entitled "...and then Nothing Happened": On Seeing the Past as Nothing.
